Made it safely to Union, and just in time it seems. Kili and Thorin are shaken up by the recent earthquakes (no pun intended). I don't understand it, but there was something about seeing the past in the under city? Whatever it is, I'm glad to finally be here. I think Kili's needed me.
Other than that, they're doing well. Both of them are healthy and happy, and they've bonded with several Pokemon. I was honestly surprised to see that Thorin was able to do that again, after all the stories from what happened before. Thorin has his forge, and they apparently recently moved to a larger home. I am particularly intrigued by Thorin's fast friendship with a librarian. I will have to keep an eye on that.
As for me, I'm well. Resting doesn't suit me, but Kili is insistent. I bonded with my first Pokemon on my first day, a Shinx named Dagny. She is a princess, but we're good friends already.
I'm looking forward to the future, but I miss you already. Thorin laughed at me when I told him I felt like you needed someone to look after you, and he's probably right, but I worry all the same.
Kili and I went out looking for Pokemon this week. It was nice to spend time with him. I've missed him more than I thought, his stupid laugh and dumb smile. And of course I missed Belbul too. I'm glad Kili has her to take care of him even when I'm not there.
I bonded with two Pokemon on our trip, which was exciting. A little Deerling named Keil and a Skiddo named Alden. Kili was ecstatic, but only because he wants to have Skiddo racing. It sounds fun, but somehow seems more childish than it used to.
Anyway. Keil makes me laugh. He's the clumsiest little thing you've ever seen, always tripping over his hooves. I don't dare imagine what will happen when he evolves into a Sawsbuck. Those antlers will get stuck everywhere.
I hope the mines are faring well. I miss the hard work. I need to find something to do and soon.
Dagny evolved into a Luxio today. I've never seen an evolution before. It was incredible. Her personality is still the same, of course, spoiled little girl that she is, and I'm happy to say we've grown much closer since we first met. She and Raz, Kili's Squirtle, like to go out shopping together for whatever it is that 'Mon go shopping for. All I know is that when she takes my wallet, it comes back lighter.
I don't mind though. It's nice to have someone to look after. Kili is in good spirits and Thorin is the same as ever. He actually offered to let me take my own commissions and use his forge, so at least I have some good hard work coming my way. I've already been asked to make flower boxes for a local, Pamela I think her name is.
And no, Mother, I'm not seeing anyone nor do I plan to.
Kili isn't either, as far as I'm aware.
No, I don't know how things are with Thorin and the librarian. I may have been imagining things, I don't know.
I need to end this letter. Keil just charged into an anvil.
So much has happened since I last wrote. Did you hear of what happened with Sanctuary? Union stormed the city and reclaimed it from Gigas. I should have been there, and it bothers me that I wasn't, but Kili was distracting me by taking me up into the mountains to train and look for more 'Mon. I'm sure it was deliberate. He knows how I am about Gigas.
Thorin was involved in the attack and was injured. He wasn't even conscious when they brought him back here. You should have seen his Arcanine; he refused to leave his side even though he was hurt too. They tell me Thorin will be fine. He took a bad hit but he's healing well. He's stuck in the hospital for now where there's plenty of people to keep an eye on him and keep him down, but the house feels emptier without him. It makes me nervous. Kili says I'm fussing but I don't care.
I bonded with another two Pokemon on our trip, at least. Fleur is the sweetest Teddiursa you ever met, though Kili will swear up and down she's evil. He startled her and she reacted, cut up his hand, but it's nothing serious and it wasn't her fault. She's just a baby, after all.
Then there's the Mawile I met, Egil. He is...a character, to put it one way. I can't seem to get him to stop eating everything. I think he likes to gross people out. It works pretty well on some of the girls around here.
Speaking of which, did you know that to most Unionites, taking off your shirt is considered indecent? Kili and I had a good laugh about that.
It's been a rough week and I miss you more than ever. I can't promise anything, but I want to find the time to visit soon. I feel frustrated and lost and like I can't protect my family the way I should. Both Thorin and Kili are hurt now, (Kili hardly at all, but you know how he whines) and I can't help but feel responsible, like there was something I could have done to help Thorin. If I'd been in the fight, maybe. Maybe if I'd left Caldera sooner, I don't know.
